About the Dog Sledding Experience

The adventure includes transport from Tromsø city center, taking you on a 95-minute journey through breathtaking fjords and mountain vistas. As you arrive at Camp Tamok, you will be divided into two groups for a personalized dog sledding experience.

The first group gears up with thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring maximum comfort and warmth. After a briefing on sledding techniques and safety, you’ll be ready to take the reins. Set off into the wilderness, paired with another guest, and steer a team of energetic huskies through the wintry terrain. Halfway through the ride, switch roles with your partner so both can feel the thrill of mushing and the joy of relaxing as a passenger. This immersive experience allows you to connect with nature, test your skills, and bond with your huskies in a truly unique way.

While the first group enjoys their sledding, the second group will explore the dog yard, meet the friendly huskies, and enjoy a hot meal and drinks. You’ll hear captivating stories about the history and care of these incredible sled dogs before gearing up and switching places with the first group for your own dog sledding adventure.

The sledding trail offers a mix of flat and narrow sections with some sharp bends, adding to the excitement. While the terrain is relatively easy to navigate, the experience does require a basic level of physical fitness to walk on snow and assist the dogs in pushing the sled when needed. Our experienced guides will ensure everyone is well-prepared and will monitor safety at all times.
