Trolltunga Via Ferrata Tour

Looking for an extraordinary way to reach Trolltunga?

The Via Ferrata is the most exciting way to experience the Norwegian mountains and the iconic Trolltunga rock formation. Expect iron steps, steep rock faces, amazing views, and a good dose of adrenaline!

Meeting point and gear

Meet your guide at the P2 parking lot in Skjeggedal. Here, you’ll receive all the necessary climbing gear. We begin with a one-hour walk along a lake on a gravel road. After this, a steep 1 km path leads us to the start of the Via Ferrata.

Starting the climb

At the start of the Via Ferrata, we’ll take a moment to catch our breath and go over safety instructions. Once everyone is ready, we begin the climb. The higher you go, the better the views! You’ll see the blue lake, Ringedalsvatnet, below and the Folgefonna Glacier across the fjord.

Reaching the top

After climbing 200 meters, we reach the top. Here, you’ll get a stunning view of the canyon and spot Trolltunga in the distance. We’ll take a lunch break at this hidden spot before hiking the last 3 km to Trolltunga.

Enjoying the view

When we arrive at Trolltunga, you’ll have time for a photo session and a bit of relaxation. Other hikers will be amazed to see you with your climbing helmet!

Return journey

For the return trip, we follow the main trail back. You’ll find it quite enjoyable to “just walk” after our climbing adventure. There’s also an option to climb down the Via Ferrata if you prefer.
