Trolltunga Summer Hike

About the activity 

Our Trolltunga tours run from May to November, marking the snowmelt and clearer trails. In summer, we meet at P2 in Skjeggedal and take the shuttle bus to P3 to save time and energy. Be prepared for a 7-9 hour hike, depending on conditions. The initial uphill might feel like a challenge, but the stunning views and milder terrain at the top make it worth the effort. 

Scenic viewpoints and local insights 

As you hike, several viewpoints showcase the valley’s steep beauty below. You’ll have stops for snacks and drinks, while your guide enriches the experience with local knowledge and motivation. Discover the best lunch spots, picture-perfect locations, and fascinating details about the surrounding nature and history. 

Reaching Trolltunga 

Soon, you’ll stand atop the famous rock formation, peeking 700m above the valley. Enjoy views of the majestic Ringedalsvatnet lake and distant Folgefonna Glacier. Your guide will abseil down to capture the best photos of you on Trolltunga, making it picture time! After the photoshoot, spend some time exploring before heading back, now bonded with your travel companions over the incredible experience.
