Breakfast is included in the stay, and the lodge’s restaurant offers a variety of lunch and dinner options.

After a good night’s sleep, check-out takes place after breakfast. The bus taking you back to Stavanger departs at 10:00.

Our express bus makes getting to Preikestolen easy and stress-free. You can choose between two departures from central Stavanger, at 11:00 or 16:00. This gives you the flexibility to plan your hike at your own pace. With a guaranteed seat, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic journey to the trailhead. Hiking to Preikestolen

The hike to Preikestolen is a moderately challenging 8 km (4.9 mi) round trip, usually taking 4-5 hours. The well-marked trail is easy to follow, with red-painted signs guiding the way. Some sections feature stone stairways built by Nepalese Sherpas, making the ascent smoother.

Starting from the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge, the trail quickly leads into untouched nature. The trail winds through both forested and mountainous terrain, making proper preparation essential for an enjoyable hike. Here are some key tips to help you make the most of your adventure:

• Food and water: Pack enough food and water for the entire hike. A kiosk at the parking lot offers snacks and drinks, but once you’re on the trail, there are no facilities—just nature, stunning views, and fellow hikers.

• Safety first: Stay aware of your surroundings and be extra cautious near steep edges, especially in wet conditions, to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike.

Located by a small lake called Refsvannet, the lodge also offers watercraft rentals. You can paddle across the calm waters in a canoe or kayak, or, if you’re up for a challenge, test your balance on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP).
