Starting from Eidfjord quay, our bus first takes you to the Norwegian Nature Center Hardanger full of interactive exhibitions celebrating the Norwegian nature, climate and environment.
Continuing with a winding and steep drive up Måbødalen valley, the last stop on the tour is Vøringsfossen waterfall. With a dramatic fall of 182 m (597 ft), the true beauty of Vøringsfossen is hard to put into words.
At the end the bus returns you to Eidfjord.
Get as close as never before to the fierce powers of Vøringsfossen waterfall. The viewing platform is partly suspended beyond the mountain cliffs so you can get a unique perspective of both the waterfall and the winding Måbødalen valley down below.
Make sure to bring your headphones! With the Go Fjords Travel Companion app you can listen to interesting facts and history about the attractions between Eidfjord and Vøringsfossen.
Norwegian Nature Centre Hardanger
Included in this trip is a ticket to the nature centre. Travel through time from 2.9 billion years ago up until today! With use of interactive exhibitions, fossils, videos and aquariums the centre lets you experience the nature found in the national park.
Every second large volumes of water cascade down the 182 meters drop from Hardangervidda mountain plateau into the Måbødalen valley. Vøringsfossen is not the largest waterfall in Norway, but it is among the most visited.
Vøringsfossen Walking Bridge
A walking bridge has become the newest addition (opened in August 2020) to the Vøringsfossen experience. The bridge is made up of 99 stairs that are beautifully suspended 50 meters (164 ft) above the falls bringing you even closer to the powerful waters.
Måbødalen Bus Tour
The road from Eidfjord up to Hardangervidda mountain plateau goes through the Måbødalen valley. From a comfortable seat on the bus you get a good view of the climb up the steep valley consisting of winding roads through tunnels and tight turns.
All the materials for constructing the Art Nouveau style hotel built in the late 1800s close to Vøringsfossen, had to be carried on horseback from Eidfjord up to the top of the hill. The hotel has been family owned for 4 generations.
