About the Dog Sledding Experience

Your journey begins in Tromsø city center, where you’ll board a comfortable bus for a 95-minute drive through picturesque Arctic landscapes, including fjords and mountains. Upon arriving at Camp Tamok, participants are divided into two groups to ensure a smooth and personalized experience.

The first group will prepare for the dog sledding activity, receiving thermal suits, boots, and gloves to stay warm. After an introduction to sledding techniques and safety instructions, you’ll be ready to set out on the trail. Paired with another guest, you will share one sled, taking turns to drive and sit as a passenger. This allows everyone to experience both the excitement of mushing and the joy of taking in the views.

While the first group is out on the trail, the second group will visit the dog yard to meet the huskies and enjoy a warm meal and drink. You’ll also learn about the dogs and their important role in Arctic culture. Afterward, the groups will switch places, giving everyone a chance to participate in the sledding adventure.

The trail is designed to be easy to navigate, with mostly flat, open terrain. Basic physical fitness is required to walk on snow and help push the sled when needed, but the experience is suitable for most people.
