Hardangerfjord, the world’s 5th longest fjord and Norway’s second longest, should definitely be on your bucket list — as it’s your gateway to some amazing glaciers, waterfalls and summer ski resorts!
This package includes 2 nights at Scandic Bryggen Hotel in Bergen and the choice between 3 different day trips.
After spending the night comfortably at Scandic in the heart of Bergen, you can either:
- Go glacier hiking at Folgefonna, Norway’s impressive southernmost glacier.
A magical glacier hike at Folgefonna with stunning views of the North Sea and the Rosendal Alps, combined with a relaxing fjord cruise on the Hardangerfjord.
- Sail on the Hardangerfjord and visit the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall.
A super-picturesque cruise where you’ll sail past fruit orchards, mountains and idyllic villages along the Hardangerfjord, and visit Vøringsfossen, one of Norway’s most impressive waterfalls.
- Go summer skiing at the Fonna Glacier Ski Resort.
An unforgettable day of summer skiing at one of Europe’s best summer ski resorts, where you’ll get to hit the slopes and enjoy the astonishing views from the ski lift.
When visiting Bergen, an incredibly scenic town that’s also your gateway to Norway’s fjords, it may be difficult to decide what to do first! That’s why a full day tour paired with 2 nights at Scandic is the best of both worlds: it allows you to explore the diverse and breathtaking vistas of Hardangerfjord and explore the beautiful city of Bergen.
The luxurious, centrally located hotel is the best place to gear up for an impressionable day of high-octane activities.

Whichever day trip you choose to include in your package, Hardangerfjord won’t let you down!
The Hardangerfjord
Surrounded by towering cliffs and lush mountain sides the Hardangerfjord is a masterpiece of nature. Stretching for 179km (111mi), it's the second largest fjord in Norway and the fourth largest in the world.
Guided glacier hike
Equipped with snow anchors, bolts and ice axes, the experienced glacier guides are ready to take you on an adventure. The experienced guide team has been running guided glacier hikes in the area since the mid 90s.
Summer skiing
With a ski lift mounted directly on the ice, this alpine ski resort is something out of the ordinary. Summer skiing has been a popular activity here for more than 20 years. During your tour you get to spend 4 hours skiing on the glacier.
Vøringsfossen waterfall
You have about 45 minutes to admire Vøringsfossen where vast quantities of water plunge down the 182 m (597 ft) drop into the Måbødalen valley. Vøringsfossen is not the largest waterfall in Norway, but it is among the most visited.
Vøringsfossen walking bridge
A walking bridge has become the newest addition (opened in August 2020) to the Vøringsfossen area. The bridge is made up of 99 stairs that are beautifully suspended 50 meters (164 ft) above the falls bringing you even closer to the powerful waters.
Folgefonna Glacier
Your hike runs along Juklavass glacier, which is a part of Folgefonna. The glacier consists of both calm, flat ice and more challenging crevasse areas, which means the tour can easily be adjusted to the group’s desires.
