Combining sea and mountain views, this 4-5 hour hike is for nature lovers eager to explore the Norwegian landscape. Watch the Atlantic ocean, Ålesund & the Sunnmøre Alps from the summit of Storhornet.

Dominating the landscape of Godøya island, which is located outside Ålesund, Storhornet is a must-visit destination for hikers. Setting off from Alnes lighthouse, after the first ridge, you’ll go north of Alnesvatnet. On your way, you’ll pass by the Johan Skytt, a slab of rock that protrudes from the mountain. A perfect spot for Instagrammable photos.

From the top of Storhornet, 360° views of the Atlantic Ocean, the scenic port town of Ålesund and the Sunnmøre Alps will unfold before your eyes.  You’ll have enough time to take a rest, immerse in the scenery and capture the landscape with your lens.
