What Does the Dog Sledding Tour Include?

Your dog sledding tour starts in Alta. A comfortable minibus will take you to Gargia, a beautiful mountain lodge. Upon arrival, staff will provide you with warm clothing to keep you comfortable in the Arctic temperatures.

Before setting off, our experienced guides will provide detailed training on how to handle your husky team. You’ll have the chance to drive your own sled, and if there are two participants, you can take turns guiding the huskies along the route. The trail starts in the pine forest near Gargia. It leads up to the stunning Finnmarksvidda plateau. You will see amazing views of Norway’s winter scenery.

After about an hour of dog sledding, you’ll return to the historic Gargia Lodge, where you can warm up with hot coffee or tea. Our guides will explain dog sledding traditions. They will share the history of the area. You will also learn about the strong bond between the huskies and their handlers.

This adventure has everything you need for a great dog sledding and northern lights experience. You will get professional guidance, warm clothing, and a personal husky team. At the end of your tour, you can enjoy some refreshments.
