Discover the Arctic wilderness

Discover the beauty and history of Northern Norway’s arctic wilderness on our exhilarating snowmobile tour along Norway’s longest historical postal route. Follow in the footsteps of 19th century reindeer herding families as we journey through the stunning winter landscape, with the possibility of spotting wildlife along the way. At the highest point of the plains, you’ll be amazed by the breathtaking views of Europe’s largest mountain plateau.

The journey

We’ll drive you 25 kilometers from Alta to the beautiful Gargia Valley. When we reach Gargia, a historic lodge with 150 years of history, your guide will show you a gallery filled with old photos that tell the story of the lodge and an ancient postal route.

You’ll enjoy a delicious, home-cooked traditional meal while learning about the area’s rich history. After getting geared up with thermosuits, balaclavas, gloves, and boots, you’ll receive a snowmobile driving lesson to prepare for the adventure.

Explore the past

We head to Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge, where we’ll take a break for coffee and classic Norwegian waffles. Our journey ends back at Gargia Lodge, where we’ll wrap up our experience. We’ll then drive you back to the city center, completing this remarkable adventure.
