The express bus makes daily departures between 1 July and 31 August between Hardangerfjord and Lysefjord.
The hike itself is 27.5 km in length with an ascent of around 1,000 metres. This hike is for people with experience, and you should allow 10–12 hours there and back. The trail is well-marked and there is no guide. Note that mobile phone coverage (Telenor) on the hike is patchy.
Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock)
The hike itself is around 6 km (350 m of ascent) over hilly terrain and has an estimated duration of four hours in total. The trail is well-marked and there is no guide.
Remember to take the right equipment!
It's important that you wear good sensible clothing. A hike in the high mountains requires walking boots, warm clothes and wind and waterproof outer layers. Remember also to bring food and plenty to drink.
