This excursion gives you the chance to top off your experience with a couple of hours in the saddle along the fjord right in the heart of Hardanger!

Following a pleasant journey by bus and boat, you can pick up your bike in Utne. Over the next seven hours, you are free to switch through your gears while you explore the 25 km-long stretch between Utne and Herand. Cycling non-stop takes around two hours, so you'll have plenty of time. From Utne, the road curves round to Samlafjord, where you elegantly wind your way through lush orchards and past old farms.

This cycle tour mostly follows the water's edge, but also goes over a low pass (250 metres above sea level) before the final descent into Herand. Set aside some time to experience Herand – a rural community rich in tradition, history and pride.
