Eigerøy lighthouse is a landmark in Egersund and a popular hiking destination. The lighthouse was built in 1854 and is the oldest cast iron lighthouse in Norway. Situated on the little island called Midtbrødøya it is well exposed to the rough North Sea weather and visiting the lighhouse is just as spectacular on a stormy day as on a sunny day. Join this guided tour with Magma Geopark and climb to the top of the lighthouse!
The area also offers visual and unique geology in the moon landscape, WW2 history and good conditions for bird watching. The hike there and back is about 4 km long and will take about 2 hours. The hike is mostly on a gravel road while the last stretch to the lighthouse is on paths. An easy hike suitable for the entire family!
