Follow the traces of St.Sunniva and the benedict monks on the island of Sejla. This excursion combines a boat trip and a hiking tour to one of the oldest existing sites of church history nestled in Norway’s beautiful landscape.

You’ll reach the island of Selja after a 15-minute boat trip from the Selje harbor. En route, you’ll come across steep cliffs, small villages and lighthouses. A perfect warm-up to what you’re about to witness once you reach the unspoiled nature of the island.

Once you arrive on the island you will feel like you have traveled back in time.

The hiking tour lasts for around 30 minutes but with the narrations of the guide along the way, time almost seems to be moving too fast.

As you walk in the ancient halls and shallow stairways in the Selja Monastery, 700 years of history will unfold before your eyes.

Pay close attention as the guide shares the exciting stories of the legend of St.Sunniva and the holy Sunnivacave.
