5 reasons to explore Bergen on a Segway tour

Despite being the second largest city in Norway, most attractions are accessible to take in over the course of a day. A unique way to do this is with a Segway tour. Here’s some reasons why these two wheelers offer a great way to explore Bergen.

Master the terrain

Bergen is known by several names. It’s both “the heart of the fjords” and “the city between 7 mountains”.

A segway can get you where you need to go, whether it’s to the heart of the city or up the Fløyen summit, to take in a spectacular view. A tour of the city from all heights is fun, but even more so on a set of 2 wheels.

So much to see by the sea

There are so many cool spots in this cozy town, and a segway allows you to cover more ground in a shorter amount of time.

In a single afternoon, you can visit so many places. Some of these include the Bergenhus Fortress, one of the oldest and most preserved castle fortifications in Norway, the historical UNESCO World Heritage Bryggen, the famous fish market, which has been in operation since 1276, and the Bergen Aquarium, located close to the scenic Nordnes park.

Some of the other attractions you can expect to see include Den Nationale Scene (the theatre), the Blue Stone, John’s Church, and Lille Lungegårdsvannet.

Classic alleyways

A charming aspect of Bergen is the maze of cobblestone alleyways that are tucked throughout the city. They offer some beautiful photo opportunities. Besides, there’s nothing quite like speeding down these narrow streets on a segway.

Art is everywhere

Zip over to the KODE, one of the largest art, design and music museums in all the Nordic countries. Not only does it contain art museums, but also composers’ homes.

If you’d like to stick to your segway, you can take in art that way too. That’s because Bergen has become an unlikely place to see street art. There’s plenty of colourful and charming graffiti throughout the city.

An evening spin

Touring Bergen on a segway doesn’t have to be reserved for the daytime. We offer a special evening segway tour, which gives guests a chance to take in the city in a whole other light.
