Take a relaxing boat trip from Skien to Lunde and experience Vrangfoss, the largest lock system on the Bandak Canal. It consists of five locks and a lift of up to 23 metres (75 feet).
Many of these locks were constructed in the 19th century to move goods and services. Before the canal system was in place, Vrangfoss was the source of many problems for loggers as logs could get stuck for years in the narrow passage with tall overhanging rock walls.
Boaters will ride the canal on one of two riverboats, the M/S Henrik Ibsenor the M/S Victoria.
Victoria has traveled the Bandak-Norsjø Canal since the 1800s.
