Alverstraumen
The boat journeys through Alverstraumen, a narrow strait with strong tidal currents. The tidal whirlpools have through history fascinated and challenged the people who had to pass them on the important trading route in and out of Bergen.

Statue of King Olav V
Standing proud on the highest point of Skjerjehamn, a statue of the former king of Norway, King Olav V, welcomes seafarers with a royal salute.The statue created by the norwegian sculptor Knut Steen, was originally intended to be placed in Oslo.

Bring a windproof jacket, hat and scarf in case of wind and cool temperatures when you're out on the open deck of the boat. Dess in layers.
