The trip starts in Bergen. A relaxing fjord cruise on the Sognefjord where you can rest your eyes on white capped mountains, blue water, green farms and local wildlife. There is a reason why this beautiful fjord, which is Norway’s longest and deepest fjord has been described by National Geographic as ‘the world’s most iconic destination’
In Vik you will have 5 hours at your hand.
Vik is located on the southern shore of the Sognefjord. The village steeped in culture and history, has roots back to the Viking Age. Today it is home to 2,400 people.
Included in your ticket is the entrance ticket to historical Hopperstad Stave Church, cheese sampling (traditional Gamalost) at Tine Ostebar and a bowl of fresh fish soup at Blix Hotel.
If you fancy a guided village tour you may, at additional cost, book a local guide who will take you on a historical journey among the many colorful wooden houses.
In the afternoon the boat will depart from Vik in the same place as where you got off when you first arrived.
Cheesy fact: Gamalost from Vik has earned the EU labeled Protected Designated Origin label in recognition of its role in Norway’s traditional food heritage. In 2018 it also earned a bronze medal in the World Cheese Awards.

Fjord cruise on Sognefjord
The Sognefjord goes by the nickname King of Fjords. It extends 204 km inland (127mi) making it the second longest fjord in the world. The remains of abandoned transhunt farms add to the cultural dimension creating an unparalleled experience

Vik
We recommend taking a town walk through the charming streets of Vik.

Cheese sampling at Tine Cheese Bar
You will get to sample Gamalost, a traditional Norwegian cheese with roots back to the Viking Age. Made from fermented skimmed milk the cheese is low in fat and salt, but rich in both taste and proteins.

Hopperstad Stave Church
You get to step inside this historic church that was built in 1130, almost 900 years ago. Hopperstad is one of the oldest stave churches in Norway. The richly decorated facade is known as Viking handcraft. See if you can spot the dragons.

Fish soup
Included in the ticket is a bowl of fresh fish soup served at Blix Hotel.
